What You Need:


  • Black yarn (for body, head, and cape)
  • Grey yarn (for suit)
  • Yellow yarn (for belt)
  • Some white and skin-colored yarn (for eyes and face)
  • Crochet hook (suggested size: 3.5 mm)
  • Safety eyes (8mm) or black thread for eyes
  • Stuffing
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch markers

How to Make It:


Body (Start with Grey Yarn):

Rnd 1: Make a magic ring and work 6 sc in it (6 sts)

Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around (12 sts)

Rnd 3: [Work 1 sc in next st, work 2 sc in next st] * 6 times (18 sts)

Rnd 4: [Work 1 sc in next 2 sts, work 2 sc in next st] * 6 times (24 sts)

Rnd 5: [Work 1 sc in next 3 sts, work 2 sc in next st] * 6 times (30 sts)

Rnd 6-11: Work 1 sc in each st around (30 sts)

Switch to black yarn.

Rnd 12-22: Work 1 sc in each st around (30 sts)

Rnd 23: [Work 1 sc in next 3 sts, work 1 dec] * 6 times (24 sts)

Stuff the body lightly.

Rnd 24: [Work 1 sc in next 2 sts, work 1 dec] * 6 times (18 sts)

Rnd 25: [Work 1 sc in next st, work 1 dec] * 6 times (12 sts)

Stuff the body firmly.

Rnd 26: Work 1 dec in each st around (6 sts)

Cut the yarn and close the hole.


Head (Black Yarn):

Rnd 15: [Work 1 sc in next 3 sts, work 1 dec] * 6 times (24 sts)

Rnd 16: [Work 1 sc in next 2 sts, work 1 dec] * 6 times (18 sts)

Stuff the head lightly.

Rnd 17: [Work 1 sc in next st, work 1 dec] * 6 times (12 sts)

Rnd 18: Work 1 dec in each st around (6 sts)

Stuff the head firmly and close the hole.


Ears (Make 2, Black Yarn):

Rnd 1: Make a magic ring and work 4 sc in it (4 sts)

Rnd 2-3: Work 1 sc in each st around (4 sts)

Rnd 4: Work 2 sc in each st around (8 sts)

Sl st to the first st of the rnd and cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing.


Cape (Black Yarn):

Ch 20, turn, work 1 hdc in third ch from hook and in each ch across (18 hdc).

Ch 2, turn, work 1 hdc in each st across (18 hdc).

Repeat Rnd 2 until the cape is as long as you want.

Cut the yarn and weave in the ends.


Arms (Make 2, Start with Grey Yarn):

Rnd 1: Make a magic ring and work 6 sc in it (6 sts)

Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around (12 sts)

Rnd 3-10: Work 1 sc in each st around (12 sts)

Switch to black yarn.

Rnd 11-16: Work 1 sc in each st around (12 sts)

Sl st to the next st and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.


Legs (Make 2, Start with Black Yarn):

Rnd 1: Make a magic ring and work 6 sc in it (6 sts)

Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around (12 sts)

Rnd 3-4: Work 1 sc in each st around (12 sts)

Switch to grey yarn.

Rnd 5-10: Work 1 sc in each st around (12 sts)

Sl st to the next st and cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing.


Belt (Yellow Yarn):

Ch enough to go around Batman’s waist.

Work 1 hdc in the third ch from the hook and in each across.

Cut the yarn and leave a tail for sewing.


Putting It Together:

Sew the head to the body.

Attach the ears to the top of the head.

Sew the arms to the sides of the body, just below the neck.

Sew the legs to the bottom of the body.

Wrap the belt around the waist and sew to secure.

Attach the cape to the back of Batman at the neck level.


Final Touches:

Add a small bat logo to the chest with black yarn.

Use white yarn to add the eyes behind the mask.

Use black thread to detail the mouth and any other facial features.
